OPEN CALL FOR PRINTMAKERS
CHALCOGRAPHY EXHIBITION
The OFICINA DE GRABADO Y EXPERIMENTACIÓN invites printmakers from all over the world to participate in the Chalcography Exhibition, to be held during October 2024, during the Printmaking Month. Intaglio techniques on metal plates such as drypoint, mezzotint, burin, etching, electroetching, aquatint, soft ground, sugarlift may be submitted. The exhibition will be held at SPARK-Sitio de Proyectos Artístico-literarios, located in the heart of Buenos Aires, Argentina, very close to the Obelisco, the San Martín Theater and Paseo La Plaza.
BASES :
●THEME: Free
●DISCIPLINE: Printmaking, especifically Intaglio techniques on metal plates (Drypoint, Mezzotint, Burin, Etching, Electroetching, Aquatint, Soft Ground, Sugarlift).
●DIMENSIONS: the prints should not exceed a maximum of 29.7 cm x 21 cm (A4). The printed area may be any size within the paper dimensions.
●QUANTITY OF WORKS: Maximum 3 artworks per artist.
●PRESENTATION: WITHOUT frame or passepartout. On the back of each print the following information must be written clearly in pencil: name and surname or pseudonym of the author, title, technique, year of execution.
●CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: No participation fees will be charged. Shipping, transportation and return costs of the works will be on charge of the artists.
●ABOUT THE EXHIBITION: The exhibition will be held during the month of October 2024 and will last 10 days. Once the call has closed and the prints to be exhibited have been selected, the participating artists will be informed about the opening of the exhibition. A digital catalog will be made with the selected works.
●DATES AND SHIPPING OF THE WORKS:
The deadline for sending the prints by mail will be SEPTEMBER 2nd, 2024. Deliveries postmarked after this date will not be accepted. The prints will be sent by mail along with the registration form.
